Have you been missing live events lately? So have we.
In White Pine, Tennessee, we love bringing people together. Community is one of our core values, and we celebrate all year long with some of the best live events in the region. But due to the global coronavirus pandemic, we’ve had to put those events on hold for the greater good while we ride out this storm together.
However, that doesn’t mean we can’t dream of the day where we can all be together again and enjoy the spectacular annual events we love so much in White Pine. If you’re thinking about your next trip to the Lakeside of the Smokies, consider planning around one of our annual events that we hope to begin again next year.
Here are some of our biggest and best events we love to host every year.
- July- Freedom Fest
Few things in life get our hearts pounding like celebrating our great nation. And in White Pine, celebrating the Fourth of July is one of the events that we take the most pride in.
Every year, we bring the community together for the afternoon in downtown to celebrate America’s independence with games, food, and events for the entire family.
- September and October- Music on the Town
Fall is the best time of year in East Tennessee. The weather’s perfect, the leaves are beginning to change, and the sun glistens off the lake just a little more beautifully this time of year. Down the road in nearby Dandridge, you can enjoy some of the best music in the region at Music on the Town, hosting weekly concerts from late August through mid-October.
Some of the bands who have performed at Music on the Town include Balsam Range, The Tams, Soul Connection, and Breaking Grass.
- September- Pine Fest in White Pine
This downtown street festival takes place in mid-September and features a wide range of what we love about life on the Lakeside of the Smokies.
Sponsored by the Town of White Pine, this festival includes food & craft vendors, two stages with live music & entertainment, a history museum with a focus on local churches, Native American artifacts, guest speakers, and a cornhole tournament. There are also cake walks, a pie tasting contest, and even a street dance in the middle of town the night before.
- December- White Pine Christmas Parade
Christmas is the most wonderful time of year, and the same is true here in beautiful White Pine.
Hosted by the White Pine Fire Department, this holiday tradition brings the community together to enjoy the best of the season. This is an especially sweet event where many children have the thrill of decorating and riding through town in the parade on the floats that represent their respective churches, schools, and community organizations.
The annual White Pine Christmas Parade traditionally takes place around the first week of December.
- December- Downtown Christmas Shopping
Holiday shopping can be a chore, especially if you’re fighting crowds at the mall or traffic through busy cities in East Tennessee. So why not enjoy Christmas shopping this year with a trip to White Pine?
With great shops lining the streets of our historic downtown area, you’re sure to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list at shops like The Flower Cottage, Ramsey Furniture and White Pine Bargain House, AttiKats Cakes and Confections, and more!
- Throughout the year- White Pine Books Tent Sales
Some of the most beloved events in White Pine take place throughout the year.
At White Pine Used Books, they regularly host large used book tent sales where folks from all over the area come to find anything from bestsellers to rare and hard-to-find books at stunningly low prices. They also host multi-day sales for children’s books, offering new and classic titles for prices as low as 50 cents per book.
