The White Pine Christmas Parade
The holidays are a very important time to the citizens of White Pine and Jefferson County. One of the most notable events that occur annually in White Pine proper is the Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 4, 2021. This year, the line-up for participants begins at 3 pm at White Pine School, and the parade is set to begin 4 pm. The parade route ends at the Ruritan Building. The parade includes booths, floats, live music, antique cars, and more.
You might even find yourself in the presence of the jolly old elf himself at the end of the parade! (Hint, hint) The citizens of White Pine all contribute to the festivities, and you’ll be sure to feel the holiday cheer from miles away. Thanksgiving Reading Event
During the busy holiday season, we tend to forget the importance of Thanksgiving. If you have curious children in your family that love to read, this free event is for you! Available in person, as well as virtually, the Parrot Wood Memorial Library plans to host a Thanksgiving Story Time event on November 19th, at 9 am. Learn all about the Thanksgiving season at this wholesome small-town celebration.

Located in the historic Mossy Creek District of Jefferson City, this event is set to occur on Saturday, December 11th, from 12-7 pm. This event will include local vendors from all over the East Tennessee area, as well as countless restaurants and food truck vendors from the Jefferson County area that are sure to satisfy every member of your family. Because almost all vendors will be local, there is no end to the unique gifts that you will find to give to the special people in your life. This small business shopping event is followed by a Christmas parade that begins at 6 pm.
Sensory Friendly Santa Experience
If a member of your family experiences intense sensory sensitivity that makes Christmas parades and light viewing a stressful experience, make a short trip to Morristown, Tennessee, where Autism Speaks has partnered with Create Holiday Magic to bring you a sensory friendly Santa viewing event! This event is taking place at participating locations across the country to make sure that everyone gets a chance to speak with the big man in the North Pole. In Morristown, the Sensory-Friendly Santa Experience will take place on December 5th, from 9:30-11:00 am.
Christmas at Glenmore Mansion
Also located in Jefferson City, visiting the historic Glenmore Mansion also makes for an unforgettable Christmas experience. For the first two weekends of December (the 4th and 5th, and the 11th and 12th), the beautiful mansion will be decorated with festive greenery, Christmas trees, and countless wreaths. The Glenmore Mansion will then offer you a candlelight tour of the mansion, as you drink hot wassail and munch on Victorian sweets served from the historic dining room. Take a trip back in time and experience a 17th century luxurious Christmas.
